Friends Like These by Danny Wallace
| In Friends Like These the author, Danny Wallace, rediscovers an old address book from his youth and, with his 30th birthday on the horizon, sets out to update the address information contained within. From this simple premise we are taken on a journey that encompasses a Ninja themed restaurant, Shane Warne and a hunt around Japan.
Danny Wallace writes with his usual infectious enthusiasm drawing you into his journey and helps create the most mundane of tasks, such as fixing some guttering, amusing. I did feel that the novel went on a little longer than was required but as someone who is also approaching 30 the book had more resonance with me than it may with an older audience. |
The Gaudi Key by Esteban Martin and Andreu Carranza
This book is a The Da Vinci Code (external link) style novel set around the works of the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí (external link), it uses the concept that he was part of a secret sect which has hidden a religious artifact in Barcelona (external link), which can only be found by following a series of riddles that link up to the architect’s work.
I began reading this book in the hope that I would find it as engrossing as the Da Vinci Code but instead i found myself being distinctly disappointed. This book is decidedly average, skipping backwards and forwards in time in an attempt to fill in the back story and is far too descriptive in regards to the road layout in Barcelona. There is also a very gruesome torture sequence in the book which I found difficult to read, but according to the book is based on Auschwitz concentration camp. Still, given its faults, I still found myself reading this book with ease and as long as you overlook its flaws you are presented with an enjoyable but ultimately forgettable read. |

You can these commands easily by creating a commandline.txt file within your default GTA IV install folder (the default is C:Program FilesRockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV), put each command on its own line to run multiple commands at once.
